Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas!!  I hope that you are having so much fun on your Christmas break.  I can’t wait to hear all about your parties and presents when we get back to school!!

Since we had an extra 2 days of break because of the snow storm last week, we had to miss our party and I was so bummed.  But don’t worry; we will have our party on the Wednesday that we come back!  I totally would not let you miss something so exciting! J We will not be doing Santa’s workshop, but on Wednesday afternoon we will share our presents, play some games, have some treats, and watch a movie.

If you were planning to take your present to school last week Thursday for our party, please plan to take it to school on our first day back, Wednesday, January 2.  I can’t wait to see you then!!

Love,
Mrs. Rozeveld

Dear Families,

Our K-4 Christmas program will be on Monday, December 10 at 7pm.  Please have your child here at 6:45 in the High School multi-use room to line up and get ready to walk up on stage.

Our 2nd grade Santa’s Workshop will be on Thursday, December 20 starting at 9:45, and our class party will be in the afternoon—starting shortly after lunch.  There will be a note coming home with more specifics on both of these celebrations! J

Box Tops: As of right now, our class is in the lead for the Box Tops competition.  However, it is a very close race!  If our class wins, we win a whole class pizza party and points to use to purchase things for our classroom.  Keep those Box Tops, Campbell’s labels, Spartan Labels and any others coming!!

As our weather is changing…and then changing again since we live in Northern Michigan, please be sure that your child has all necessary winter clothing on days that it is needed.  Remember snow pants, boots, hats, gloves/mittens, etc.  Also if your child wears boots to school, be sure that their shoes are in their backpack.  We are not supposed to wear boots in the classroom to help keep the carpets clean, but if we are also not allowed to be barefoot for safety.  If shoes get forgotten then boots have to be worn.

Thank you, again, for all of your love and support in this school year! Encourage your child to keep reading!!

Thanks!

Mrs. Rozeveld

Last Minute Details

Take Home Reading Folders:
As our school year begins to wrap up, please be sure to send back your child’s reading folder and book.  Our last day for take home reading folders will be Friday, June 1.
Library Books
If you still have library books at home, please be sure to send them to school as soon as possible.  Yesterday was our last library day for this year.  The students did not check out new books because by next week the librarians would like to have all books returned to the library for summer inventory.

Spring Program
Our Kindergarten spring program will be on Tuesday, May 29 at 1:30pm.  For one of the songs the students will need a baseball cap.  If your child hasn’t brought one to school for this program yet, please be sure to send one in for them to use that day.

Fun-to-Be-Fit
Thank you so much to those of you who have volunteered to be a part of the day with our class.  If you would still like to participate in any way, please let me know.  We could use a couple more parents to run/walk with the students as well as some parents to meet them at the finish line.  Also, we still need 4 dozen store bought cookies.  If you have volunteered to send in juice boxes or cookies, please have them here on or before Wednesday, May 30.

Last Day of School
The last day of school for our Kindergarten and Jr. Kindergarten students will be Wednesday, June 6.  This will be a full day of school and busses will run like normal.

If you have any questions about any of these activities, please let me know, and I will do my best to answer.

Thank you so much for all of your support this year.  You have really helped to make our school year a success.  We have a great class, and the students have made awesome gains this year!  I’m excited to see what 1st grade brings for them!!
