Last Minute Details

Take Home Reading Folders:

As our school year begins to wrap up, please be sure to send back your child’s reading folder and book.  Our last day for take home reading folders will be Friday, June 1. 

Library Books

If you still have library books at home, please be sure to send them to school as soon as possible.  Yesterday was our last library day for this year.  The students did not check out new books because by next week the librarians would like to have all books returned to the library for summer inventory. 

Spring Program

Our Kindergarten spring program will be on Tuesday, May 29 at 1:30pm.  For one of the songs the students will need a baseball cap.  If your child hasn’t brought one to school for this program yet, please be sure to send one in for them to use that day.

Fun-to-Be-Fit

Thank you so much to those of you who have volunteered to be a part of the day with our class.  If you would still like to participate in any way, please let me know.  We could use a couple more parents to run/walk with the students as well as some parents to meet them at the finish line.  Also, we still need 4 dozen store bought cookies.  If you have volunteered to send in juice boxes or cookies, please have them here on or before Wednesday, May 30.

Last Day of School

The last day of school for our Kindergarten and Jr. Kindergarten students will be Wednesday, June 6.  This will be a full day of school and busses will run like normal. 

If you have any questions about any of these activities, please let me know, and I will do my best to answer. 

Thank you so much for all of your support this year.  You have really helped to make our school year a success.  We have a great class, and the students have made awesome gains this year!  I’m excited to see what 1^st grade brings for them!!

Fun To Be Fit

Dear parents,
Mrs. Kelley is looking for donations & volunteers for fun to Be Fit Day on Friday, June 1 (afternoon).  This is a family event' parents and siblings are welcome to come and run/walk with us.  Mrs. Kelley is looking for a couple of parents from each class who won't be walking/running but would be willing to meet our class at the finish line up on the track.  she is also asking for some dontions of juice boxes & cookies.  Please let me know if you would be willing to help with any of the following:\

_____ Juice Boxes 91 package of 12).  We need 50 juice boxes total, but I'm hoping that a few families would be willing to 'share' the load.

_____ 2 dozen store-bought cookies.  We need 4 dozen total.

_____ Run/walk with class.

_____ meet our class at the finish line.

Take Home Reading Folders:

Thanks so much for your support and consistency in reading, signing, and sending back your child’s reading folder.  They come in so excited about being able to have read their book all by themselves! 

Book Order:

I sent home the May Book Order with you child last week.  If you would like to order from this book order, please have your order in to me by Friday, May 25. Please let me know if you would like another copy of the flyers, or if you need more information about ordering online.  Our classroom online code is: DWNVD, and the website is www.scholastic.com/bookclubs.  This is the last book order for this year.

Field Trip

Thank you for all of the permission slips and monies that we have already received.  If you have not sent your child’s slip in, please be sure to do that soon as our trip is next week Tuesday, May 22. The busses will leave at 8:30 am, and will be returning to school by 2:30 pm so that the students will still get their recess that day and have some time to get packed up before getting back on the busses to go home.  Please send a cold lunch in disposable containers to school with your child that day. Thank you also for all of those who volunteered to chaperone!  We do already have the 8 chaperones needed, but if there is a cancellation, I will be sure to let you know!
