Take Home Reading Folders:
We started taking home our reading folders this week. Thank you so much for your support in this! The students really seem to be enjoying it. Because of some last minute schedule changes in our day today, we did not have enough time to check out new books for the weekend. I hope to be sending these folders home 3-4 times a week starting next week. If you would please have your child read you their book (1-2 times would be great), sign their reading log, and return the reading log, strategies chart, and book back to school, that would be great. Then we can make sure they get to take a new one home right away. Thanks!
Book Order:
I sent home the April Book Order with you child last week. If you would like to order from this book order, please have your order in to me by Friday, April 27. Please let me know if you would like another copy of the flyers, or if you need more information about ordering online. Our classroom online code is: DWNVD, and the website is www.scholastic.com/bookclubs. I will also be sending home one last book order in May.
Field Trip
On Tuesday, May 22, we will be taking our Kindergarten field trip to the Kettunen Center. We will be exploring all kinds of different nature activities. The busses will leave at 8:30 am, and will be returning to school by 2:30 pm so that the students will still get their recess that day and have some time to get packed up before getting back on the busses to go home. Please send a cold lunch in disposable containers to school with your child that day. I will send home more information as we get closer. Any parents who would like to come with are more than welcome! Just let me know.
Mileage Club
Mileage Club started back up this past Monday. Mrs. Kelley is still looking for a few parent volunteers to mark cards during last recess. The lower elementary recess time is 2:25-2:50. If you're interested, just let me know and I can pass on the word. Thanks!
