Dear Families,
Wow, this week went by fast! October is Fire Safety month, and on Wednesday we got to spend some time with a few of the McBain volunteer fire fighters learning about fire safety at home and at school.
In math, we’re learning how to sort things by shape and color. We’re also learning how to make patterns. In social studies, we’re learning the difference between the past, present and future. We’ve been working very hard on learning all of our letters and sounds these last few weeks, and the students are having a great time learning the motions that go with them. Encourage your child to show you the motions that go with the letter sounds.
As we begin our October writing journals, we’re writing and drawing the weather, our favorite color, and of course jack-o-lanterns for Halloween.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about your child or our classroom, or anything really, please feel free to contact me by email or note anytime. I am also available to chat at school before 8am or after 3pm, but please remember that when the students are here my attention needs to be focused on them.
