Dear Families,
Happy New Year!! It is my hope that you enjoyed your holiday break with your families. The children came back rested and refreshed this week!
We have begun learning the vowel Aa, and the –at, -am, -an word families. This week we met Chunky Monkey, who helps us find chunks in words when we read, and Stretchy Snake, who helps us to stretch out the word by saying all of the sounds.
Please continue to read with your child each night and work on those sight words!
A reminder to please send weather appropriate clothing to school with your child—gloves or mittens, hat, boots, and snow pants (when there’s snow on the ground).
I will be sending home a January book order the beginning of next week. It will be due on January 20. I will also send home a note explaining how to order books online, if that’s more convenient for you. And for each order that gets placed online, we get free books for our classroom!!
