Classroom Happenings

Hello All!

I hope you have had time to enjoy this beautiful, sunny, and almost warm fall weather that we've had this weekend!  Here are some updates on our up-coming week.

Reading:
Our vocabulary words for this week are: check, choose, chores, cost, customers, jobs, spend, and tools.  We practice these words daily in many different ways.  Please take a moment to review with your child what they may have learned about these words.

A new spelling list will be coming home with your child on Monday.  Please review these words with your child daily.  The test will be on Friday.

We will be discussing the non-fiction genre of expository text again this week.  Your child will be excited to tell you what they've learned about how we know a text is a non-fiction and expository.

Math:
This week we will be continuing our focus on strategies to help us learn and memorize our addition facts as well as strategies to help us solve addition number stories.
We are working hard on our Rocket Math!  This is to help us memorize our addition facts and see how many we can answer in 1 minute.  The students are really enjoying it!

Thank you again for all of your love and support for your children!  I've spoken with many of you this week on various concerns, and I welcome them all.  I appreciate you working as a team with me and with our school to make your child's education as successful as possible!

Have a great weekend!
